The Unlikely Gift of Treasure Blume

Treasure has an unusual gift, a gift that makes people dislike her. While most would term this family gift as a curse, the family has chosen to see the positive aspects of the curse instead. Treasure has struggled with her gift all her life, mostly spending her time with seniors and children who are exempted. This means her dating life is really quite horrible. She wishes she could marry her cat and be done with it. When she decides to strike out on her own and leave her hometown to teach elementary school in Las Vegas she has to face the challenge of winning over the school staff and parents. In fact, one of the parents of her children is also a gourmet chef working in the cafeteria. Treasure and this chef discover an attraction for one another, but they don’t know if their relationship can survive Treasure’s gift.

I really loved the character of Treasure. She was funny and kind and very easy to root for. I also love her blunt although sometime rude grandmother. She made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion. This was a fun lighthearted romance with a little bit of a fantastical element tossed it. The plot spends a lot of time dealing with Treasure’s classroom dramas as a teacher. My heartfelt for some of the kids in Treasure’s classes and I admired Treasure for all the effort she goes through to help them.
